How ApartmentIQ built a steady content engine for their market data platform without adding headcount.
The Client
ApartmentIQ is multifamily's leading market data platform, tracking 40M+ units daily and trusted by 65% of the NMHC Top 50 operators. Their product gives revenue, asset, and operations teams real-time rent comps, concession data, and market intelligence — the kind of data that drives pricing decisions across some of the largest portfolios in the country.
The Brief
ApartmentIQ came to me with a clear content goal: produce authoritative, long-form blog content that educated their target audience on the topics their product helps solve, including fee transparency, pricing automation, revenue management, and market data strategy.
The audience consists of revenue managers, asset managers, and operations leaders at major multifamily operators (in other words, people who can spot a shallow take immediately). The content had to earn their trust, not just rank for keywords.
ApartmentIQ provided comprehensive briefs and a clear content strategy. My job was to take that foundation and execute quickly, with minimal edits.
The Work
ApartmentIQ came with a clear strategy and thorough briefs. What turned that foundation into content worth reading was my execution — research grounded in eight years of industry knowledge, clear writing that spoke directly to a sophisticated multifamily audience, and on-time delivery that required few revisions.
Standout pieces:
Multifamily Fee Transparency: A Compliance Roadmap — A practical guide for operators navigating the wave of fee transparency legislation sweeping multifamily markets.
Moving Beyond Manual Pricing: How Multifamily Teams Are Pricing Smarter in 2026 — A piece on the shift from manual market surveys to automated, data-driven pricing strategy.
Why It Works
ApartmentIQ's content strategy is clear and well-built. What they needed was someone who could execute it at a high level without friction — a writer who already understood the multifamily data space well enough to take a brief and run with it.
The Result
ApartmentIQ's domain earns approximately 2,900 monthly organic visits across 503 ranking keywords, with backlinks from 328 referring domains — strong indicators of a content program that's building real authority in a competitive B2B niche.
The domain also has emerging AI search visibility, with 16 mentions across ChatGPT, Google AI Overview, Google AI Mode, and Gemini, signaling that ApartmentIQ's content is being treated as a credible source by the platforms increasingly shaping how buyers research.
During my 3-month tenure, organic traffic grew 22.7%. SEO content typically takes 6–12 months to fully index and rank. These results reflect early-stage momentum from a content program still gaining traction.
